Tire shops sell and install new tires, patch punctures, balance wheels and, at most locations, align the suspension. Prices are quoted per tire plus mounting, balancing, valve stems and a state disposal fee for the old set; many shops price-match and include free rotation and flat repair for the life of the tire. Used tire shops sell inspected take-offs for a fraction of the price of new ones, useful for an older car or a single replacement, but check the tread depth (4/32 inch or more) and the DOT date code, since rubber ages even on the shelf. Mobile tire services come to your driveway or the roadside, commercial shops handle semi, trailer, farm and off-road tires, and wheel shops repair and refinish bent or curb-scraped rims.

Athens is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Athens is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Georgia's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I received quality service, technicians are knowledgeable and communicate well. Turnaround time was quick, and they follow up regularly to check on how your vehicle performs post service. Overall positive experience, more expensive than I anticipated and in line with what I would expect to pay at dealership.

We have a lemon Volvo and very few places in town work on Volvos. Everyone we spoke to was helpful and courteous. We were able to bring it in earlier than our appointment (rather emergency brake repair) and they got to it immediately. They gave a report of the inspection and said what was necessary and what could wait. Oil change was $40 less than any other we have had. Reasonable prices and very nice staff which was appreciated as it was my female college student and me, her mom. Justis helped us and the other two I spoke with were equally pleasant. We will return!

We were in the location for the birth of our grandson and we were experiencing trouble with our Chevy Spark. From the first phone call until we walked out of their door with our keys we were treated with the best quality service we've ever received from an auto repair facility. They were extremely professional and friendly which is very difficult to come by these days it seems. They gave us a complimentary Uber ride TO and FROM the hospital! It meant the world to us and we were floored. They diagnosed our car- free of charge, gave us a quote, completed the work, ran another diagnostic and inspected our vehicle for any other issues. We had our car back that afternoon. It was fixed quickly and affordably and we were able to meet our grandson and make the four hour trip home. Y'all living in Athens are so lucky to have the Car Doctor's Auto repair! I can't thank them enough.

ETA: after leaving the below review, Car Doctors called me to discuss. Lauren claimed that I "must have a CarFax account," which is not true; I have never used that, and never got an email from CF after or about any other service, in more than 20 years of owning cars. I also believe Car Doctors themselves made the CarFax account: the purchase of the car and all other associated work were processed using the email associated with this account. The email I gave Car Doctors is a brand new email, literally weeks old, but is now part of a CarFax account. No one else could have created the CarFax account with that email. Removing an additional star from my original 3 for pulling my records (in a different name than here!) and calling, and then lying about their business practices. -------- Good things: the oil change coupon was a reasonable price, the staff were friendly, and the sitting area was small but clean. They brought me back to show me the wear-level on my tires, which I appreciated. Frustrating: neither the tires nor brakes needed servicing for a little while, so I declined that service. Now I'm getting frequent emails from CarFax that it's overdue. I don't know why CarFa

This place overcharges by nearly double. Took my car in to have it inspected and was quoted on a variety of repairs that ranged from minor to more major. Labor and parts cost seemed excessive at first blush, and on two of the repairs, the costs were astronomical and absurd. Someone with even less sense than me would probably have been taken for a very expensive ride on some of these quoted repairs. Ultimately just had them replace a single rear brake cylinder, which they charged $480 for, which I realized was unreasonably expensive after I already agreed to the repair, but I just wanted this particular repair done. I should have asked around and researched the repair more, so that's partly on me, but this shop should not be charging that much for this kind of repair. To clarify, a brake cylinder costs about $30, and this probably took an hour of labor tops. $480 is not reasonable. I also had them look at my A/C, which ran $130 for a diagnostic, and then charged another $300 for what seems to have just been a freon recharge, though they made claims to me that they were replacing leaky hoses. No hoses were replaced when I inspected my vehicle after picking it up, and the A/C repair

I contacted this shop via text to get pricing for standard fluid/filter maintenance on my front and rear differential and transmission. Subaru dealership wanted to gouge me (no surprises there), so I went to a local shop with good reviews. This work is a simple and fast process to DIY (should be routine for a knowledgable technician), but I don't want to pay for the equipment to do it since I won't use it again for a long time and the costs shouldn't be too far off (me doing it buying equipment vs them doing it). Initially the quote was inaccurate for the services I requested. I was being charged for fluids I didn't need and they didn't specify what services were being performed on my transmission (red flag they dont know what they're doing, but I can't expect the front desk to have the same knowledge a tech has). The next quote had correct fluids, but did not reflect the transmission service I had requested initially (ok, fine, maybe they're busy and missed it). The next quote was right, but pricing had changed substantially beyond what was originally being discussed and what the service should cost with a reasonable labor rate and parts (alright, maybe I'm paying the annoying

Highly recommend. They have coffee at the front desk and we’re all very nice and understanding. The service was very reasonably priced and once complete they inspected other areas where my vehicle may need service and offered quotes for each. Even though I declined they were not pushy and warmly delivered my vehicle. On top of all this they give a 10% discount to students.

Excellent service! I brought one of many fleet vehicles for our business for an oil change without a set appointment and Chuck was able to work me in very quickly. Even while almost all bays were full I was worked in and serviced very quickly. Amazing friendly staff that always kept me updated. Highly recommend!
